The Royal Parish of Santos Juanes opens its doors in the historic center of Valencia, next to the Mercat Square and the Silk Exchange. It is a meeting place where worship, art, and community coexist. Here, faithful of all ages gather for the Eucharist, prayer, and the celebration of the sacraments. At the same time, this temple bears witness to eight centuries of urban, artistic, and spiritual life.
The Parish, founded in the 13th century on an ancient mosque, transitioned from Gothic to Baroque style after several renovations, including one from 1693-1702. It was declared a National Monument in 1947. Although the 1936 fire destroyed part of its art, a recent restoration has returned it as a symbol of resilience and Valencia’s history.
At Santos Juanes in Valencia, parish life is lived with closeness and commitment. Every day, we open the doors of the temple to celebrate the Eucharist and accompany the community in the most important moments of their Christian lives. We offer the sacraments—baptisms, marriages, confirmations, and confessions—as well as spiritual guidance and special celebrations throughout the liturgical year.
The Royal Parish of Santos Juanes in Valencia will host a new series of talks during the 2025-2026 academic year, this time focusing on the evangelist Matthew. This year’s Evening Colloquiums with Saint Matthew will review the keys to reading the first Canonical Gospel, explained by Ricardo Lázaro Barceló, professor at the San Vicente Ferrer Faculty of Theology at the Catholic University of Valencia.
